BODY PAINTING (major coverage) - Full Body Design Painting or Make-up for Theatre, Photo-Shoot Models, Exhibitions, etcetera:
As popularity and requests increase, I may be adding a separate photo gallery site for full body art. In the interim, I am only adding the text description below.
Although the art of body-painting has appeared throughout time, with the more aboriginal or Native earthen pigments, to retro-art of the late 1960s and early 1970s now being revisited, the art may have a base of metallic silver or gold, a la the Agent 007 "Goldfinger" movie or space-age gold with rivets, a la the C3PO robot in the "Star Wars" movies. "Laugh In" (decades-old TV show) and hippy-style flowers on bikini models with LOVE, PEACE or social and political messages woven into it have also reemerged. Larger format biker-tattoo-style art has also become a part of the more recent body-in-flames look both multicolored hot-rod-style as well as the slightly more realistic rising flame licks.
Another recent body art style on the rise is that of camouflaging the body into the landscape... rocks, leaves, bark, concrete... or blending into other artworks or blending into an interesting wall... in tourist locations around the world, you may have even seen people painted up as marble statues that rarely move, except to request a donation before or after posing for you to take a photo.
After 2000, the nature blending as well as faux clothing seemed to take the lead. The fake articles of clothing (usually painted on swim-wear or other costumes) are probably the most prevalent body painting used in advertising art, causing people to do a double-glance when they see the poster or , ad, photo or
Depending on the project, body painting may vary in coverage greatly, occasionally with nearly the entire human as canvas. However, whether cosmetics or paints are required for the look of the project and model, I always insists on the use of the non-toxic, hypo-allergenic paints and cosmetics being used.
NOTE: When I choose to display Body Painting, it will only be portions of the body art in the column at left. This is for two reasons Firstly, even though covered in paint, I choose not to display potentially risqu images on my family-oriented web site... Secondly, I think you can get more appreciation if I zoom in on the detailing of the art itself. Trust your imagination to fill in the bigger picture.
PRICING: Unlike event pricing, larger coverage body-art can be scheduled on its own. Pricing ranges from around 100$-250$US down to do a draft illustration of the body painting project concept (if not already provided by the model or art director of a project or photo shoot) and an additional 200$-600$US average range for the actual finished body-painting.
